When I use the tractor & have lets say the bush hog hooked up & set (height) the lift will not stay steady it will leak down then back to the original setting this goes on the entire time while the tractor is running. I would appreciate some input on this problem & how to repair. :?:

Most likely you will need to remove the top cover and repack the lift cylinder. however, you can scout it out first by removing the cover on the left side where the dipstick is and watch for a leak while running it, and the implement off the ground.

Thank you for the reply but the only dip stick is the engine oil.
I may have to rob a repair manual for this lift I work on diesel trucks for a living & I have repaired about every car or truck in the neighborhood. I have been wanting to fix a few things on the old ford & kept putting it off so I decided to start.Asking is cheaper than a manual which I have found you use 1 time & put on the shelf.Been trying to read all I can on the hyds.the inframe is no problem but I am lost on the lift.Any info or web sites would be great maybe I can return the favor if you have a cummins, mack ,Detroit ???? Thanks to everyone

I would suggest borrowing or buying a manual. There are simply too many components inside that system that could cause the "hiccups" of the 3-point hitch.

Once you get the manual, locate and pull out the ASC valve once you get the hitch up in the air. By doing so, you will effectively divide the hydraulic system in half to help troubleshoot.

I had a 7600 once that was so difficult to trace down the internal leak that I finally pulled the cover, suspended it in the air, and pressurized the cylinder using another tractor.
