515 cycle mower

I'm looking at a 515 Ford cycle mower in good shape What are these worth an what are the common problems I'm mainly just going to use it to mow around ponds an along side the driveway thanks

It is a sickle bar mower not a cycle bar mower. One of the problem they have is a bearing that if it goes bad will cost more to fix then it is worth. I have parts and piece of one and I also have the manual for it

It is no big deal I was just correcting you as to what it is called. If I still had a working scanner I could scan pages form the manual as you needed them but when my old computer crashed it took the scanner with it

Make sure it has the bracket that goes on lower right link that connects to the spring breakaway. Also make sure has the chain pin and chain that goes to draw bar. I used one for years, but main bearing failed. Its good for parts seller now.I'd have seller hook it up and run for a while make sure does not stop and bind up. After running feel if bearings very hot. They are decent mowers. I prefer the MF dynabalance 31 or 41, easier to put on and off and run smoother, less rattle.
