'52 8N battery tray: original finish

What was the original finish/color of battery tray on 1952 8N? Red or Black?

Looks like battery top cover was red.

Where can I find such original finish info for other 8N parts? such as throttle lever, throttle quadrant, lug nuts etc

Are there 8N "judging standards" similar to Model A Fords?

Not building a show tractor but if you're gonna paint, might as well paint correct color

Thanks,
Clem

Clem........iff'n yer that sphincterly challenged, recommend you squander $25 (cheap) for the Peterson & Beemer "N-Originality Guide" ISBN 0-7603-0289-8. I got mine a "Borders Books. I've seen it at other BIG book stores incuding WalMart. Its published by MBI (Motor Books International) Go Shopping. .......Dell, the un-challenged

Thanks Dell,
That's what I was looking for, I'll go get one.
Nope ain't challenged so. Just figuring ifin I'ma paintin parts I might as well paint er right.

I quit Model A and Indian motorcycle clubs because "The Boys" were so up tight they didn't even have machines that ran, but they sur were purrty.

thanx

What you're saying makes a lot of sense, why paint the "wrong color" when it's just as easy to paint with correct color.I've got it easy with my 9n,everything's grey, but what grey???---lha
