52 B Starting Problem

Hi all, I have a 1952 B that will not start. I started the tractor up about two months ago to plow my garden. It started fine, ran normally, but halfway through it cut off, like it had run out of gas. After checking that I had gas, and that the mag was generating a spark to both plugs, I tried to re-start it, with no luck. Eventually I unscrewed the small tube on the side of the carb and was able to get it to fire, but it would immediately die if I gave it any throttle. That got me thinking either the carb is clogged, or the air stack is clogged. I thought about taking the stack off, but that seems like a complicated project. So, for the experts here, what are your thoughts? Thanks!

Take the oil bath off and make sure the oil is clean and at the proper level. You can loosen the connection on the front of the carb going to the oil bath rather than removing the air-stack. If you open the drain on the bottom of the carb you should get a steady stream of gas out for at least 30 seconds or you are not getting enough fuel.

Check for sediments and rust in the carburetor. Sometimes the smallest bit will clog up a jet. It may get just enough gas to run with no load but won't pass enough under load.

Should be easy to see and clean out.

Check all the fuel screens in the carburetor and check for good steady fuel flow..
You most likely have fuel-fouled plugs now..change them to Autolite #3116..
Make durned sure the Mag does not have any Moisture in the cap..
To be sure the air inlet is not plugged, just remove the oil cup from the air cleaner..
To clean out that upper inlet pipe, use an old Garden hose with no metal end on it and shove it up to the top while water flows and washes the Mud Dauber nests out..!!
I think, with New dry plugs it will start..
(You said you had Fuel AND Spark..) so, if you have Compression, it should RUN..
I hope you have had the Petcocks open, to blow the excess fuel out..
