my old bf is having problems. the generator gave up the ghost and I'm going to put a 12 volt alternator in, problem is I don't know if the new wireing harness i put in can or will hold up? any suggestions on what I should do? thanks in advance.

I put a single wire alt.in my 51 MM BF about 20 years ago. Put the pulley from the gen. on the alt. so the belt would work. It works very well for me. Also changed my 53 MM BG 10 years back.
