Fired up the ol'girl this week after 12 years of sittin' in a fence row. I can't believe it actually runs. Had the new coil wired wrong. I matched the old coil which was wrong (+,- reversed). Had the new ammeter polarity reversed. Took forever for the new temp gage to come up to temp. Now I start on some of the issues it has.
1. Will not idle down without light pressue on the governor rod.
2. When it does idle down, oil pressure drops to 0. (25-30 psi on fast idle)
3. 3pt arms will not go down.
4. Has a miss at idle speed. (Carb adjustment?)
5. I broke the white metal cast piece that the 3pt control lever attaches to. I've been told this part is not available.
6. The brakes need work, and the tires are fair.
I will take some pictures this weekend and post next week. A project such as this gives one an opportunity for some relaxing, quality, shop time. Never had the time when we were milkin' cows.

Glad you resurected this old machine.

1)Adjust the governor rod

2)You should have a a minimum of 15 psi at 400 rpm idling speed. Since you have 25-30 psi at high idle(2200 rpm),I"d say your mains were OK. I suspect your relief valve may be stuck partly open causing low idle oil pressure so low.

3)If the lift arm won"t go down, your lift piston may be stuck or binding in the lift cylinder or your control valve may be stuck. What"s the fluid look like? This is another area where condensation causes water to get into the trans/hydraulic fluid and can cause sludge to form that"s not good for the hydraulic system. Jeff(OH) has a proceedure for cleaning the trans/hydraulic system that you can find with an archives search.
4) This is common. Make sure that you have a FAT, BLUISH-WHITE SPARK, and then adjust the small needle on the throat portion of the carb. Remember it controls the idle air so enrichment occurs when you screw it inwards.

5) Check a salvage yard or ebay for the broken part.

6) You know what to do about these items.

You might want to consider cleaning up the fuel tank. These old machine that sit out for years have fuel tanks full of crap and corruption that eventually start causing problems with fuel delivery. Many have broken tank baffles that stir up this junk when you drive the tractor and it becomes a full time job trying to maintain adequate fuel delivery.

RE: lift arms stuck.
After 12 yrs sitting outside, it is very possible the cross shaft or lift shaft which the arms are attached is frozen in the top cover. This shaft has bushings on each side and these can freeze up on the shaft and the top cover housing. I just went thru this with my TO35 which ultimately required a new cross shaft and bushiings due to the damage we had to inflict to get them out. This means a hot torch and a big hammer, and if you are lucky the shaft will come loose if that is the problem. If this is the problem, you may have to replace the bushings as the minimum fix.
