520 LP that stalls

I have a 520 LP that starts fairly easily, but then stalls after about 15 seconds of running. The spark seems to be good and it seems to be dying from fuel starvation. When I try to restart it, it pops a few times, but will not start at all. If I leave it to sit for a day, that whole process starts all over. I have pulled the high pressure valve in the convertor and it looks clean and the little spring is intact. The air cleaner cup is full of oil. I am not sure what my next move should be. Any help is appreciated.

Are you following the starting instructions from the manual? I have a 730 LP that has an inoperable liquid valve and I can only start it on vapor and I run it all the time on vapor. Are you starting on vapor and then switching to liquid, which I think is what is proper. But if the problem has just started it probably has nothing to do with how you start the tractor. I have never cleaned the LP filter on my 730 but then I never run it in dusty conditions but that would be a good place to start. Let us know how it works out so we can have a solution if that ever happens to us LP tractor users.
