53 ford starter

my starter wouldn"t start, checked motor found brushes worn replaced brushes. kit i got had front &rear bronze bushings, old ones didn"t seem to be worn, so reused them. I was just wondering what kind of lube should I use on the rear bearing? I put a light coating of white grease on it. thanks, c hanse

Most starter bushings are made with oilite bronze - a porous bronze which is impregnated with oil when they are made.
They do not require lubrication but your grease probably did not hurt them.
