53 hyd pump

Has your tractor been converted to the
Hundred Series piston style pump?
I think a retrofit was available at one
time.
A 53 should have a vane style pump.
If so and you are talking about the
seats I think most people drive a
sheetrock screw in them and pry them
out.

jtc, did you decide to rebuild your pump? Let us know how that went. I am curious as I have a '54 with the vane type pump. It's working fine now, but it is 65 years old after all.

(quoted from post at 04:19:43 06/28/19) is there a tool to remove the cups on the hyd. pump

If you are talking about the tapered bearing race on the piston pump the best solution is to run a cold bead around the bearing surface with an arc welder. The race will shrink as it cools and drop out. If it is a vane pump I am totally confused by the question.
