53 jubilee stuck engine

bought 53 jubilee, had been sitting for a couple of years. Put marvelmysteryoil and mixture of atf and acetone in cylinders it has been in there for a couple of months now. I have been rocking it often but no movement. Pulled the oilpan and rocker covers, looks like new inside. Also pulled the starter and tried to move flywhhel with prybar, very little back and forward movement. Starter switch on shift plate is stuck(open i think) another starter button is on ins. panel and shifterplate switch is still wired to solenoid. The solenoid clicks when inspanel button is pushed. I have tried to start in N-1-2-3-4- clutch in and out. Am i missig something or is it time for tear down. Have resisted pulling it so far.

If the ATF/Acetone mixture doesn't cut it you have a tough one.
You might try "Engine Release" from the guys at the link below.
I used it to free up my Jubilee.
It's pricey, but it's supposed to have a money back guarantee.
As long as you follow their instructions.
I can't tell you how good the warranty is, because it worked for me.
Mine had been setting for many, many years and doesn't even smoke now.
I did not expect that result, and wouldn't think it would happen every
time, so a tear down may still be in the future.
I'm in no way affiliated with them, just something I tried once.
You might also just try the impact wrench suggested in the instructions.

A couple months!!! Man your patience is measures above mine. I woulda yanked that head and been elbow deep already pulling some pistons/sleeves and throwing some rings at it...

I hear you man, but I have only actually owned it for a couple of weeks. The fellow next door had it and said he would consider selling it to me, and I could tinker with it, so I just did the minor stuff until i paid him for it. I already have sheetmetal off getting it ready for repaint.

It's possible that it has a mechanical lockup problem such as a seized main bearing. If that is true all the penetrating oil in the world ain't gonna do it.

I would pull the head and see if the pistons are stuck???

I have a sure fire way to free up a stuck or seized engine where the pistons are stuck.

I cut out a piece of 3/8 plate about 2" round and welded a 3/4 deep nut in the middle of it. I take the head off and place this tool on top of the stuck piston. Pour some diesel fuel on top of the piston. Just enought to go down around the piston and rings. Then using an air impact tool with a blunt bit in it placed into the nut on the flat plate tool and start hammering. Just a few minutes and the piston will be loosened. Do it on all the stuck pistons till you can see them wiggle around the rings etc.

If you put the oil into the cylinder before the acetone/ATF mixture, you may be preventing the active ingredient from getting to the problem on one or more cylinders(due to the oil sealing the tiny gaps around rings0. I had success with freeing an old Allis Chalmers engine that was really rusted badly due to cooling water leaked into cylinders and not being run for years. I had the head off, carefully scraped and wiped out worst of the rust and added the liquids in this sequence.....liquid wrench, then Marvel Mystery oil next day, then rocked the tractor back and forth in high gear many times over several days.
The engine runs with good compression and no oil use after reassembly......I am amazed!

I had thought about pulling a couple of main caps to check, but it is just so clean inside I have hesitated, there was no metal in the pan just small amount of sludge and just a trace of coolant.I need to pick up a manual to get all the specs. first any way. Good idea with the airhammer. Thanks!

trace of coolant, wonder were it came from.

I take it you have the pan off if so check crank shaft end play and Rod side play on the big end of the rods you do not have to get technical just make sure all moves.

Personally I prefer the pry-bar on the flywheel tooth trick. If you take the head off you are still in the same shape your are with it on. If I had the head off I would have to try and rattle them as Zane does just to see for my self. I have had one I could not un-stick the engine is under my shed and I parted the rest out.

Have some play in rod ends, but did not check for crank movement. I will do that. poured acetone in cylinders, first and last cylinders leak out 3-? n-2nd cylinder no leaking yet. Thanks.

When the others leak your mix you will be getting somewhere.
As long as a piston is NOT at TDC you should be able to move it. A piston stuck at TDC is almost impossible to move you loose the leverage the crank provides.

BTW were did NOXJOHN's post go anyone know it was good info. I can see the other post going away someone was going to get hurt.
