530 CK engine swap

Wondering if anyone knows if the engine in my 1963 630 (188? gas), will fit/work in my 1966 530 CK (159? gas) Would like to keep the 530 running while I rebuild the other engine. thanks.

i think the 188 diesel is a bit longer than the 159 gas so the hood won't fit when you are done with that swap. that may be problematic in the loader frame. now the 188 gas is i don't know. i have been told that it has a different block than the 188 diesel with 1 less main bearing so mayhap it is shorter. are they both COM or dry clutch?
 
Both tractors are gas, not diesel. The 188(gas)is in my 1963 Case 630, The 159 (also gas) is in my 530CK, not sure about the clutch. I just purchased the 530CK. Thanks for the reply though, I'd appreciate any info. Doug
 
Just did the 159 from a 530 tractor to a 580 CK ( thanks Gus ) the ag version and Industrial are the same only different . Had to use some parts from the ag block . Oil filler , oil filter mount was different , power steering pump was different , as was the flywheel and clutch . Not sure about the 188 .
 
looked at my two machines side by side and am seeing the same things. Oil Filter mounting is different, power steering pump, etc, etc. Going to investigate more today, now that the weekend is upon us and I can look in the daylight. Thanks for the info.
 
Also learning as I go that my 1963 Case is not a 630 but in fact is a 640. Again still learning. The two engines look as though they will swap, just wondering if anyone could confirm. I may try to run the 530CK to confirm the engine knock and low compression that the seller warned me of.
 
be sure to measure your sterring shaft if the hood is shorter the shaft will be also i swiched a 159 to 188 diesel couple years ago same bell housing just but my were triple ranges also the arm that goes under neath the axle pivot arms is shorter on a gas 159 than 188 diesel
