530 propane

tractor surges at all speeds is the governor bad or the throttle rod from spring to butterfly lever off? do you adjust like a gas? thank you
 
that is a real good question posted this for a friend but will see tractor later next week. that would tell if the trouble is propane or tractor problem. thank you for your input. john
 

There is a procedure in the operator's manual how to pre-load the governor spring and adjust the linkage.
Too long to type out here.
 
The stub shaft that sticks up out of the governor
Gets dry and binds in the housing, usual fix is some
penetrating oil to free it up then a couple drops of
engine oil occasionally.
Governor arm and flat spring attach to this ?stub? shaft.
