Hi folks, Just new here and in search of some knowledge.I have a 63ish 530ck with a 159 gas motor with a bad crank. Someone local to me has a case 300 tractor and says the motor is a 157 gas. Does anybody know if that motor would be compatible with my machine.

The 300-311 have a 148 motor, the early ones have a different bolt pattern and wont fit, the later ones have a 2 bolt starter not sure if they will fit. The 157
motor is a Continential diesel used in the 300 series tractor, very expensive to fix and not a lot of power. You will probably have to fix your motor or find a
used good runner

I have a friend that put an older gas Case engine into one of his 530 ck machines. I'm not sure which engine he used but a little less cubic inch. He told me the only difference was that the block is one inch shorter than the original. Apparently he used some form of spacers at the front and it was all good. I saw the machine after he did it. I would give more detail but my friend recently had a stroke and was placed in a care facility... so communication is the hitch at the moment.
