5320 fuel problems

I own a 2002 JD 5320 cab tractor. It's been updated with a one-way check valve & filter in the fuel supply line. Over time I've had to replace pieces of the fuel supply line and periodically the fuel filter. The problem seems to be the rather weak fuel primer which doesn't last more than two years, making priming/bleeding the fuel system rather time consuming and sometimes impossible without a rebuild on the primer. Yesterday It took about 15 minutes to isolate and repair a small hole in the supply line, but about an hour and a half to prime/bleed the system so the tractor would start, as the primer needs to be rebuilt again, after a rebuild in 2009. Has anyone installed a 12v electric fuel pump on these tractors?

I haven't on a JD but I did on a Orange one with great success. I can't see why it won't work on a JD. Or you could blow short bursts of compressed air into fuel tank filler neck to help push fuel to the fuel filter.

Yes u can put an electric supply pump on it. Deere does not offer a "kit" but I have put a few on. Make sure to power it from a keyed power source and to have an inline fuse. I would also replace the entire fuel supply and return line as apparently there was a bad batch of fuel line. I have personally done it on a number of them.

I just put one on a 5520, I got it at O'Riellys, I mounted it under the cab floor to the rear of the right floor board just forward of the shift boot, I picked up power under the dash and run the wire under the floor mat and through the shift boot, a longer line was needed to go on to the filter, as I was looking I found that the fuel line was cracking badly so I installed a new line up from the tank, the problem was it was starving for fuel this fixed it.
