540 Hesston

It's pretty common on a lot of balers. Especially with second/third cutting hay. Sometimes slightly damp hay makes it worse also. It's usually not bad enough to actually cause problems. And not necessarily something you can stop.
 
Well in my case,it was bad enough to jam all the belts. The hay was 1st cutting and about 3ft tall. I think that had alot to do with it! I made some adjustments before the season,maybe Iwill revist the manual, Think there is a wear plate that might be wore out,or at least in rough shape.Thank you!

It cost me a baler, also Hesston 540 when my brother didn't catch it in time. All I can say is be very alert for any signs of smoke, especially every time you stop.
