I HAVE A 540 PERKINS ENGINE GIVING ME FITS. IM GETTING DIESEL IN THE CRANK CASE, TRACTOR HAS A CONVERSION PUMP THAT I THOUGHT THE UMBRELLA SEALS WERE BAD, BUT PUMP SHOP SAID THEYRE FINE, MADE SURE THEY WERENT FOLDED OVER. MAYBE A LIFT PUMP? BUT TRACTOR IS MISSING ON NUMBER 7 CYLINDER. IM WONDERING IF FUEL IS GETTING BY THE RINGS? OR MAYBE HOLE IN PISTON OR BAD VALVE ON THAR CYLINDER? TRACTOR DOES HAVE ALOT OF BLOW-BY FOR 3400 HOURS. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED.. THANKS, MIKE

Did you check the injection nozzle on #7 since engine is missing there? If its not popping off right you will have a miss and fuel in oil.

yes I swopped out nozzel with another cylinder but problem didnt follow nozzel,#7 still missed.

Thanks for the input. MIKE

Better pull a valve cover over #7 cylinder and see what's wrong there if anything. Have seen the rocker shaft stand broken on one of these

Well Wayne after I read your reply I went and pulled valve cover but all looked ok.Guess I will hafta pull the head. thanks Mike
