540 PERKINS

just pulled a head off a 540 Perkins that had alot of blow by and was missing on number 7 cylinder. all the pistons had pits and a couple had cracks on the exhaust valve side of the pistons. what would be causing this? bad fuel injectors?

Check the timing. It sounds like the cam timing may be off, allowing the valves to contact the pistons.
