544 Power Steering

A friend bought an International 544 Hydro gas tractor. Does it have a power steering pump or does that run off the hydraulic pump? Thank you

The power steering pump is internal and part of the hydraulic system. In the link I believe it is pump keyed by number 3. I think it runs the steering and the 3 point hitch. The pumps set an about under your feet inside the transmission. The pump number 1 I believe powers the hydraulic remotes.

That explains why his total hydraulics AND the power steering are slow....(loader included) which is plumbed in to the tractor hydraulics. I'll advise him to start with a hyd. oil and filter change when the weather warms up. He's 87 and is having a love affair with his couch at the time. Thanks for the info, sir.
