550 gearshift

I’ve never owned a 550 but in looking at the pictures, I cannot determine where is the gearshift? I did own a 770 and it was a great tractor. I have yet to see a 550 at any of the shows I attend or I could’ve answered my own question.
Thanks

My Mom hated my 550. She could never find the correct gear. My son hates it as well. But they are both right handed. For me it is great. One of the few tools that is left handed.

I don't even have a problem with it, but my wife quit driving hers on tractor drives and commandeered one of my 500s instead. She would always put too much effort in to it. I can shift it with my thumb and two fingers, but she always gets right down low in the seat and horses on it like it's the hardest thing in the world to move. She'll almost always go right up the center neutral and end up in 5th gear instead of 6th, then I have to jump off and hold up the whole line while I get it in the right gear for her.

I never thought about that before, but I can see how it would be annoying. I'm right handed and really like having the shifter to my left. It lets me steer, run the throttle, operate the point or loader with my right hand.

I’ve found that the more effort I exerted the tougher it was to get into the right gear. The more I don’t think about it and use a bit of finesse, the faster and smoother I can shift between gears. Love that shifting pattern now and it has all the speeds I could want. I’m a righty and I agree it’s nice to operate the remote to angle the blade while I am shifting to reverse

A lot of people seem to struggle with those double neutral granny's. Longs oliver and others. MRS Jocco can't do anything with them.

I grew up on Oliver’s and Farmalls. I don’t even give the Oliver double H pattern a second thought. Meaning it’s not difficult to go to between upper and lower gears . To me it’s just normal. I won’t lie though when on different tractors sometimes I have to cheat and look at the shift pattern decal if it’s been a while since on a certain tractor. Not all have the same shift pattern meaning gears aren’t in the same place.
