For the Oliver experts. I removed the flywheel from my 550 Oliver to have it faced for a new clutch install. I noticed a large gap below the crank seal and rear oil pan area. Is there supposed to be a cover for this. I cleaned a mouse nest from the PTO clutch area and was wondering if this is where they are getting in.

Thanks

Don

Notice the two small holes in the photo, further inspection will show that they are threaded. There should be a sheet mental piece that bolts to the front side of that housing covering that opening.

Yes, I noticed the threaded holes. The left one was full of dirt. I suspect the cover was removed back in the early 80s when my brother in law overhauled the engine. I inherited the tractor about 5 years ago. I guess Ill try to fabricate something if I cant source a replacement cover. Thsnks

Ok, I found a parts book showing the shield I am needing for my 550 Oliver, Item #23 Part Number E-1000-A. Does anyone have one of these laying around they are wanting to get rid of?

Thanks

Like J.Wondergem mentioned,
Kent Gordon at 90337298349. He'll know and I'm betting he has them.
You could also check with Maibach Tractor 800-808-3394. Both have salvaged a lot of tractors.
