My 550 has 26" rims. one of them is newer within the last 10 or so years. The other one is very rusty and has started leaking. It seems that most companies only sell 6 loop 28" rims for 550s, but no centers for 550s. The 26" rims are very expensive compared to 28"s. Tires seem to be about the same price for both 26" and 28". I can also find 28" rims locally cheaper, but then I'd still want correct 550 centers.
Would it be better for me to just buy one 26" rim and hope that I can get the tire switched over easy enough? Should I swap to 28" rims? What other tractors had the same bolt pattern as 550s? I've heard that for 8Ns and Allis Chalmers WD series tractors have the same bolt pattern, but I don't like the way those look.
