555 hydraulics not working

1979 555 backhoe lost all hydraulics suddenly

Checked the tank for a plugged screen or loose baffle restricting fluid

Pulled the pump and went through it and its all good

Removed disassembled and cleaned hoe and loader system over pressure valves

Bypassed the hoe and the loader worked perfect

Switched the hoe system over pressure valve (#3 in the pic 2400psi) for the bucket over pressure valve (#23 in the pic 2375psi) and still nothing works

checked the regenerative check valve in the outlet cover of the hoes hydraulic manifold

Bypassed the hoes hydraulic manifold intending to us the loader to move some material and the loader has now stopped working ?

Connected the main hydraulic hose back to the hoe manifold but left the power beyond port capped and capped the hose that connects the power beyond port to the loader manifold. The hoe worked ! For a minute then stopped and the machine died.

I thought I was asking too much of it lifting the hoe boom with the engine cold and not raved up but I couldn t get it started again. It was acting like it had a dead battery barley turning over then clicking at the starter. I charged the battery and still nothing, thinking the battery was bad, I brought over a second and jumped it. Machine started briefly and died acting like there was a strain or restriction on the engine too great for it to overcome. The fluid should still flow back to the tank through the return line with the power beyond caped off as its a separate line. What is going on ? First no hydraulics and now a complete blockage ? Can the loader not be bypassed in the way I have it connected ?

I suggest you reverse your plumbing and restore it to the way it was before you started working on it. You're describing a classic stuck relief valve, but you've already determined they're not stuck. There is a load on your pump which is bogging down your engine. Have to keep digging to determine why.
