The rake came with F78-14 tires and they were all to pieces. I just put on new ones and they are 205/75 14s. It seems like it is spinning the bars a lot faster than my 256. I am using the same tractor pulling the rakes in the same gear and rpms. Is the gear box geared different in the 56 versus the 256. Should I go to a shorter tire on the 56 or larger.

A smaller tire will speed up the rpm's of the bars. It will turn more revolutions in the same distance traveled than a larger tire would.

56, 56B, 256,258, 259, and 260 all use the same bevel gear pair. Standard equipment tire size for 56 and 256 is 5.00x15.

One of the 14 inch wheels were bent anyway so I am going to the same as on the 256. The 14 inch wheels were on it when I got it. I have one good 15 inch wheel and I will get another when I go to the salvage yard. Thanks
