Hi Dennis, last month you kindly gave me infomation were to find Swartz wide front parts and I passed this infomation onto my colluge who deals in IH parts this side of the pond. He is very greatfull as he as been to supply his customer with what he wants. I have noticed by your post you are also into Fordson tractors. Ihave a 1945 model N, a 1956 Fordson Diesel Major both tractors were what my Uncle used on his 43 acre farm. When he bought the Major the model witch was the last N sold by the local dealer Brooks of Newark on Trent before the E27N Majors was introduced. I lost track of this tractor 47 years ago in Cambridgeshire and after a lot of searching it turned up in a farm sale 7 tears ago in North Yorkshire. I managed to buy it at the sale and after rebuilding the engine I have been taking it to a lot of tractor rallies. I also have a 1958 Power Major and my wife has a 1962 Dexta witch I restored for her 4 years ago. MJ.

Ah a interesting story, did you have the serial no. written down, or other identifiable things about the Major? My dad tried out a Major in 1956,but i was to young to drive it,but it was one of the first Diesel i heard run as a kid ! So you had access to new Schwartz wide fronts in the 60's,or whenever?

Marvelous story , and was nice of you to share.
My Fordson F was on the cover of the Tractor and heritage magazine . The reason mention it is that hoping to see more Fordsons at Shows which I think you mention your involvement with is very interesting. So lets me know if the numbers increase.

The Swartz wide front is on a Farmall MD tractor that as recently been imported into the UK. Over the last 20 years a lot of US and Canadian tractors have been imported into the UK and I have one a 1923 10-20 with a water washer air cleaner. MJ.
