560 Diesel Hydraulics

I have a 560 tractor with little to no hydraulic pressure, 10 pounds on a pressure gauge. Yes I've replaced the filter and changed the oil and adjusted the spool valves by your feet. It had good power steering which I know is the seperate piggy back pump. Do y'all think the main pump is shot or am I missing something ? Thanks

could be main pump. When I got my 560 it had little (300 psi) pressure, I changed filter and it was full of crud but still didn't get pressure. Pulled the pump and it wa really loose, you could wiggle the shaft around. I suspect the reason was the prior owner didn't know there was a hydraulic filter. do you have a pressure guage to insert into remote outlets to check it? guage is really pretty inexpensive and if you just adapt it to a quick coupler easy to check pressure. I think the book says to check pressure on the line that goes out of pump housig to the steering mount that feeds the touch control valves but it you get low pressure at remotes it is probably sign pump is bad. could also be a problem with seal on tube from pump to housing between there pump and filter.

Yes I checked pressure and it was below 100 pounds. The pump does whine sometimes. I guess it's time to pull the pump!!!

Hey, I'm no expert, but I do have a 460, whose hydraulic system is practically identical to yours. There are a bunch of people on this site who may be able to help you. For example, my 460 had barely 25 psi on the hydraulics. Kub6040 gave me step by step instructions on how to sort it out. It turned to be nothing more than an out of adjustment linkage. Problem solved. Any experts out there to help this man out? Good luck. Hugh

I'm mostly an AC Orange man, new to the 560 but love it! I guess I need to buy a book to troubleshoot it
