560 fast hitch

My 1962 560 has fast hitch with teledepth and traction control, but I can't raise the rear wheels off the ground, so doesn't operate like normal two-way cylinder. Thank you for any info on this.

Might be the same pin as Brush Puller is talking about, but there is a pin in the bell crank that when removed allows the hitch to "float" vs having down pressure. It's about 3/4 in. x 3 in long.

I do have all the pins in for non float incuding the one at the bottom of the cylinder. The hydraulics for the remote cylinders seem okay.

The fast hitch control valve unit down in front of your feet has a permanent cover over the where the selector valve (if there is one) where you change from one-way to two-way hydraulics. I get a little time I might remove that cover and see what's back there.

I read somewhere that the teladepth system was not designed to lift the tractor, rather to assure a uniform depth. I have never had a reason to try it for lifting purposes.

The 1 or 2 way knobs are for the remotes, not the fast hitch. If you want you can do away with teladepth and use a normal cylinder connected to a remote. I don't think that is a good idea.

If you have all the pins in you also need a double acting check valve and they will indeed lift the rear of tractor. With only the single like the very early models had it will try to lift and just hop up and down. I'm sure you know the check valve is mounted right in the seat support and both hoses should come out of the added on block.

How are you trying to lift the rear wheels? You need to put a stack of blocks on the ground for the hitch to push on. The cylinder is fully retracted when the hitch ALMOST touches the ground, and can't go any further.

Put an empty beer can between the blocking and the hitch. If it crushes the can, you have down pressure. The can will hold the hitch up if there is no down pressure.
