560 gas hed gasket kit

starting to get ready to replace the head gasket , my question has anyone used NAPA gasket kit fpghs7799cs2 by fel-pro ( 1958 model 560 )thanks

For me if it has anything to do with FEL PRO i run . If your planning on doing the head gskt then plan on refacing the head and while your at it do a valve job NOW also . I will only use the Victor gskt.

i agree also with the above , do it all now. only benefit you have its a gas engine! lol.

Just put a head gasket on a 400 IH tractor, package wasn't opened till I did. Was a victor/reinz packaging but the gasket said felpro.

I would call tech help at fel pro , they are very helpful ,Harvey,and Erik come to mind. Just ask if they have any tips on installation of your head gasket . They will tell you. I learned a lot from them on the Farmall C head gasket installation.
Is that a diesel or gas tractors?
All the work your doing ,just a phone call to fel pro could save you a lot of money later.

Yea sure you will . Let's see here your talking to KID's setting on a computer that have NEVER built and engine , never had to solve a problem on there own . I played the GAME with FelPRo head gskts due to leakage out the left side after two change outs and still leaking . On a fresh engine build i am not talking what you back yarders / shade trees call a engine build We are talking bare block total reman with line bore decking of the block recut counter bores dead on sleeve sets a reman head all bolt holes rethreaded and chased to the vary bottom and all bolt torqued to spec.'s with a fresh recertifed quality torque wrench and the head leaded . And they were telling me i did not know how to install a head qskt . HUMMMMMM been doing engine work since i was a pup , built my own engines i ran on the strip , built engines for others built gas built diesel and never had a problem with head gskts even the old fashioned steel shim ones . I got nowhere with Fel Pro and went to my engine parts supplier and ordered in the OEM Victor gskt as yes there are two slapped in run the torque and shipped it no leakage . when your working on someone elses DIME the last thing you want to see is a COME BACK as then now your working on your dime . Not many guaranty there handy work i do . How many I H dealers stand behind there T/A work past 90 days ?? i gave a min. of TWO years engines a year as long as you were not turning it up past what i gave you to start with and it was always MORE then factory . BUT you use what you want and when ya have a leakage problem out the left side don't whine about it .

the biggest thing is clean flat surfaces. many gaskets have the sealer built right into the composite. they seal once the engine gets to operating temp. and a gas engine on old tractors has no where near the challenges of that 282 diesel. in the 1920's those head gaskets got reused if they looked good. i even saw guy make his own gasket out of 2 pieces of tin with the asbestos stuff in the middle for his WK 40 tractor. and yes it worked cause i saw the tractor running at our tractor show. as i said here the gas engine is your friend, so if you have a problem getting that to seal something is definitly wrong. holding 100 psi in the gas compared to 350 psi in the diesel with not enough head bolts is the challenge.

It would be a really SICK 560 with a 100 psi compression , same block as the D 282 , same head bolts 1/2 13 grade 8 ju that the D 282 gets pulled down to 120 . The felpros that leaked on me on a clean fresh machines surface on the block and the HEAD had me so mad that i even pulled the gas head down to diesel spec.s and oh guess what it still leaked with each compression stroke .
