560 hydraulic fluid drain

I am going to drain the hydraulic fluid in my 560. I have a new filter and gasket too.
Where is the drain plug to drain all the fluid? Is there more than one?

IIRC there two underneath.Look, you will find them.Do you know where the fill and the level plugs are?You should order a book(s).You can get them right here from YT.They will be the best investment you will ever make for your tractor.

I ordered the operators manual today. I know there is a plug on the side that is the full level plug. Glad to know there are 2 drain plugs.
I ordered the operators manual. What other manual do you think I should get?

What I"ve seen, on my differernt model Farmall, none of them are complete and totally right. I"d get the IH manual, the I&T manual and any others you can get. Eachone will have slightly different info.

There ate two drain plugs on a 560 transmission one big one at the rear pointing to the rear of the tractor, and a small one at the front of the transmission pointing forward. This is the plug that most people miss when draining fluid from there transmission. I would also suggest that you drain the TA housing when changing oil. If the plug is still orginal, the plug is a recessed
square. Three drain plugs and one fill point, the small cover beside the shift lever bolted to the top of the transmission case cover. this cover is bolted on with three bolts. Good luck

Start with the OM.Then ,service(IT manual);then parts is helpful, espeacially if you dont have a dealer close by.Then any 'supplement' is helpful/handy,but not totally nessesary.

Parts and service manual. IT manual is ok, but the "service manual" for that tractor is a group of several manuals for the different systems. The parts manual is valuable if you need a replacement part of any kind. You can give the part number over the phone to the local or distant dealer, you will know in a couple of minutes if it is in stock, or can be ordered, and what the price is. Many people favor the parts dept on CaseIH.com, but the hard copy is more convenient as I don't have a computer in my shop.
