560 pto

I have the pto with the large plug on top to insert a tool to adjust the clutches.

I have tried to get it to stop slipping under load with no success.

Could the belvel washers be the problem? Is it difficult to get and replace them?

Is it OK to operate the tractor with the pto removed? Cover plate installed.

does the lever snap in when engaged? If not and you were using it it has probably worn the plates inside and will be time for an overhaul. I don't think it will hurt to use the tractor without using the PTO. Damage is probably already done. You might try adjusting it, procedure is in the book. Takes a special tool to do it on the tractor and if you have an aftermarket 3 pt of quick lift it is pretty hard to get to that plug.

It does snap over with as much or more force as my other 560s.
