560 steps??

Were 560's with a fast hitch and a PTO loader pump and hoses designed for monkeys to operate as hard as it is to get on one? I slipped and fell a month and a half ago and ended up with celluitis and still suffering from in. No way with a loader on it to get on from the front so it has to be from the rear.
Has anyone ever made any good entrance steps?

Harry R, I bolted a couple of pieces of angle iron in the “notches” of the left rear axle. One extended further down. Welded to that is another angle iron (horizontal), then welded a couple of draft horse shoes as the surface to step on. Helps me. Otherwise 300, 400, 350, 450, 460, 560 As you’ve found can be a real pain to mount or dismount.

I knowA man that slipped getting on a 460 AND messed his knee up bad. He took left headlite and ta lever off and built steps on front left to get on and off. Lot easier to get on now

I'm looking bringing a set off of mini steps off the back, using the fender mounts and then one on the hitch itself. Probably have a go at it this winter.

I have after market 3 pt hitch on my 560 which also makes it hard to mount. I looked on ebay for steps and got one for JD 2 cyllinder A and 60 I think, rear mount. I use it for a front mount, I have another like it I use to stand on when pouring fuel in

Gentlemen anybody have pictures of what you came up with? I broke my back last Dec and I am now able to get on my 460/560 like I used too, but for the last 30 years I have been thinking about steps. Have gotten used to it but it is almost dangerous should your feet slip getting on or off. I go slower now days. Black ice got me not the tractors. Regards, John.

MY solution was to attach a step on the left lift arm of the 2pt hitch right where the implement prong goes in.

The step is actually a length of rebar bent into a square U, bent out 90 degrees and welded at the mouth of said lift arm. Leave about 4" of clearance over the opening when you bend the u bolt outward. Step on that with your right foot, left foot on the axle and swing onto the seat.

I've worn it down some over the years and it's polished from all the steps but, so far it 's given me a place to step that doesn't drop me on my ancient bum.
