What does the S and C stamps represent?

A single C suffix is LP gas attachment. It may or may not still be setup that way. But it might have a high compression head, so if it does it will need premium fuel. Jim

it would be more in the piston then the head.

S = equiped with a T/A with internal parts to use a IPTO. One C = LP attachment. If you don't think it was ever a LP make sure there isn't two C. That would be what IH called heavy tillage attachment, some transmission gear ratios different.
