5610 Ford front support casting removal

5610 Ford. Trying to remove the front support casting. It is above the front axle. The front axle pivots on the bottom of the casting. Got everything off except the axle. Front pivot pin is being stubborn. Haven't tried heat yet. Any advice on removing the front pivot pin would be appreciated. I am going to try to weld the original casting. Heard the aftermarket castings have had problems. Anyone tried the aftermarket replacements?

Unbolt the front casting from the front of the engine and roll both pieces forward after clearing the rear axle pin in the oil pan. Then it will be easy to separate the front axle from the front casting. Once you have the front casting uncoupled from the front axle, drive the front support pin out from the back with a BFH.

Be VERY careful when rolling the front casting and axle out as a unit. If those two parts become separated while you're rolling, someone might get hurt, badly. Suggest having plenty of help to stabilize things. I clamp a 4 foot pipe wrench over the axle beam to keep it from getting away from me.
