My manual for crankcase oil capacity states: 12 quarts. I added ~9 quarts and it
was running out of the test cock. It is an all fuel 720. Got me stumped.
Is the manual wrong?

It has been awhile but the 12 qts sounds like what the diesel takes.

My source says 7.1 quarts for a gas 720

My service Manual (Sept. 1958) shows the crankcase at 10 qts.

Operators Manuals OM-R2055R for gasoline and all-fuel and
OM-R2056R for LP-gas tractors both show the crankcase capacity is 12 quarts

The filter I'm assuming holds 2 quarts, and won't fill until after you start it. How much sludge is in the bottom?

I don't have a 720 gas, but my 70 and G both hold 3 gallon.

I don't have a 720, but does it have more than one drain plug that you possibly missed ?
