Does anyone know where the best place to get a 6 volt battery that won't cost me alot close to central Indiana?
I used to get them at Rural King but they are out and dont know when they will have them in again.know they dont last a real long number of years so dont want to spend alot to pick one up . Thanks

6v battery are expencive. No matter where you buy em.Call aroind locally. If you want to dance, you gotta pay the band. However, now would be a perfecyt time to convery to 12 volt.Costs less than 100.00.

I'm located in western Indiana and have found them at our local Carquest. It was a couple of years ago, but I think it was a little over $100. I'm sure that Napa would be comparable.

I have had good /great luck with Deka brand. For me they usually last close to 10yrs. KOI parts houses have them here-Northern Ky. Mark.

Good morning, all: I have noticed the store "Batteries Plus Bulbs" stocks 6V batteries. (I would check the age of the one they pick out before you buy it, I don't know how long they keep them on the shelf). In Jackson, TN there is also an independent battery store I have had good luck with. BTW, I have read that there are only a very few companies making 6V batteries, so all stores get theirs from these few sources.

Dennis M. in W. Tenn.

Bomgaars has them. They are a chain in the upper US headquartered in Sioux City, Iowa They usually have battery sales at least once a year. Last four I bought on sale there for a 24 volt Deere diesel were $59 each plus tax.

Just bought one at Blaines Farm & Fleet. They were
$59 with a 2 year warrantee.
The one in the cub is going on 7 years now & is still
hanging in there.

I get them at Farm and Fleet. I just had the batt. box out of my Super C which ain't easy, put a new gauge in it and took a look at the battery. Bought in 2010, looked like new inside and out.
The battery before this one went twelve years I think. Think they cost about 60 bucks.

Family ,Farm andHome has decka com 1 little less amps then the duralast on the other Farmall c but it turns it over fine. But less money !
But I have the generator and starters fixed up. Im ok with the Decka . Think I got it on special , about 80 dollars plus tax

I got mine at NAPA and it has been very good. Not cheap but I look at how long it lives and the cranking of the tractor. Mine sits most of the winter months (Nov to March) and it has started the tractor every spring since I got it. And it is never charged during that time.

Well, price wise I think you get what you pay for. If you pay cheap price, you get cheap battery. I just get my tractor batteries at a local car quest. If that store wasn't there no longer, I'd just go to another similar chain store.

A group 1 from napa is over 100.00 I have had very good luck with napa batterys. You get what you pay for. Check the date code on the battery side, if more than 3 months old don't buy it good luck
