60 coolant capacity

Finally getting a chance to check for sure if my coolant leak is at the water pump or not. I couldn't find it in my manual but
googled how much coolant a 60 holds &.....am i reading right?....looks like it's around 8 gallons? WOW that seems like a
tremendous amount. If I've leaked out around the water pump how much of the total capacity do you think I might have lost?

8 gallons give or take is about right off the top of my head. When you take the drain plug out of the bottom of the head, have 2 5 gallon buckets side by side, and be ready to switch them in a hurry.

Just bought a G and the manual shows 12 3/4 gallons for it. No water pump though, thermo-siphon.

Thanks y'all. I guess if I get a couple of containers i'll soon find out how much i've actually leaked out. I'm thinking regular 50-50 mix of automotive type antifreeze?

once its filled and you have it running don't be surprised if some comes out the overflow until it finds its own level. as long as the tubes are covered it will be fine. Bill
