60 leveling/grader blade

I have a 140 with the 60" blade which is almost identical to my Cub's 54 blade, one thing I can't figure out is why does the angle extend out 6" on the left side right above the wishbone?
I've reviewed pictures of other 60" blades and have seen this on those as well. I, at first. thought it was from a older "repair" but with the square hole I dismissed this theory and researched the photos. Could it be used to hook/chain it in the raised position when not in use?
Just wondering and could use a little help.

You can offset the blade to one side when you are using it mid-mounted for grading.
