I can see how you would like doing it yourself. I wish I liked doing that sort of thing. I'm not much for fine details. Most of my tractors have the bare minimum. If you really enjoy it you should make up some gigs. Best of luck.(quoted from post at 05:44:13 03/26/18) Thanks OllieJunkie. I have done several rewires on old cars and a few tractors so I m initiated. It is kinda fun especially if you have the schematic and a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. With the older style cloth woven wire you almost get a sense of art. It is available on ebay in any length. Biggest thing right now is coming up with a suitable rubber insulation sleeve for the terminals. Most hose is too heavy of a wall and shrink tube is absolutely wrong and looks wrong. I ll find it. Curious however, if anyone has used the harness you mention and if it has the correct insulation sleeves? Thanks again.
Yep! Korves are good people. Very helpful and good to deal with. Always have a year end sale on engine rebuild kits too. They will probably send you a catalog although they probably have more than is in it or on their website.(quoted from post at 09:42:43 03/26/18) Ollie it s like art. Anyhow just off with Korves and although no picture is available, the fello was very knowledgeable and described the harness. Individual wires are cloth covered and the terminal ends insulated with a rubber tube like original. They are sent out as an "open account" meaning that a statement is included and can be paid with a personal check. The freight was about 7.55 he guessed. I simply think that is more than fair and where do you find that trust these days. I forgot to ask about lamp wiring. I did have another fello in Texas do the 5 wire ignition cable set, per an original Oliver set I have had on the shelf for over 50 years and he duplicated that set perfectly. (The set is actually composed of individual cables and part numbers) Very early wires are black but have an orange tracer. Later are all black FWIW
