600 carb

I?ve had the carb off and apart on my 640 I know 30+ times since I?ve owned it trying to find out why it
will not run or adjust correctly and am finally ready to throw in the towel and buy a new one to replace it.
Question is, what is the difference between the $30 replacement aluminum carbs and $230 replacement
aluminum carbs? The prices seem to be all over the place? Mine is a marvel Schebler TSX580. Any
recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Unless your old carb is mangled, it can be repaired, you are overlooking something, NO reason to replace American quality with a questionable part from "The Land of Almost Right".

There's a couple of guys that hang around here or the Ford "N" Forum that will likely repair it for you reasonably if you ask.

I agree with having it looked at by someone familiar with it. Better still,borrow the carb off another hundred series to make certain the problem isn't something other than carb.

I would agree with Bob. I had my carb apart several times on my 641 and I could not get it to run right. Then I saw the diagram of the carb and saw that were very small passages that were blocked. Real fine drill bits did the trick and the carb runs great now. And it is the original on my tractor, a 1962 641.

I'm working through putting a 641 back in service after who knows how long it sat and some fairly poor care. I am nearing going through the carb and would really appreciate seeing the diagram of those small passages spoken of. Could some one post them here?
