600 Oil Pressure

Have owned the 600 for 30 yrs and oil pressure has always
held a steady 40 lbs.
Recently the oil pressure will start out at 20 lbs then maybe go
to 60 then after about 5 mins settle back to 40 lbs and hold.
Does this sound like oil pump going out? Oil level is full.

Change gauge, they go bad from time to time.

If what Shaun said doesn't help, then I would look at the pressure relief valve and spring. Assuming the gauge isn't at fault, I don't think a failing oil pump would go to 60 psi.

Thanks guys. I just ordered a gauge from YDT. I
think the gauge in it now is the one that it came with.
