I doubt the pump is bad. What size of boom? Nozzle spacing? Nozzle size? Application rate? Does this have any sort of rate controller or are you spraying based on speed and pressure only? Has it worked correctly in the past? What changed?

its been working fine for the past 7 years and this year we pulled it out of the shop and it started rite away...it is a speed and pressure machine and we usually run about 40 psi. when you turn on the booms it starts off at 40 but then it drops off to 25 fast and it has low nozzle pressure. why is dropping the pressure so fast and not holding? could it be the regulator? thanks for help.

sounds just like a suction leak to me . Have you checked the belt to be sure its not slipping . when you are not spraying ,it will be easier to turn than when its pumping with the booms on even with much less pressure .

Fred, has your sprayer sat with atrazine or other chemical in it? If so, you may have some caked chemical in the impeller of your sprayer. It will make pressure with no flow but will not with higher flow is required. I used to own a 6000 and this would happen periodically. Just split the pump and check the impeller. Odds are there is a restriction in it. It's a simple (but messy) fix. Keep an extra o-ring on hand for this. Mike

I always bought the o-rings from Deere. They aren't that expensive. I always kept an extra around just in case. I am not sure if the pump is actually Deere or more likely an outsourced pump, such as a Hypro, etc. I know it has Deere part numbers on it so it's likely proprietary. Mike

Changing the subject. I need to slow my 6000 down. Anybody know where to get some different size sprockets for the chains to do this? JD just lists a 12 for the top and a 44 for the bottom.
