6030 questions

I put a canopy (stethoscope) on my 6030 and now have a ping in transmission. I did not notice without canopy. It does not happen pulling only when letting out on the clutch. Is this normal for 6030 or what could it be? Also having trouble spinning the bead on the rim. They are new tubeless 20.8x38 Firestones. Running about 15 psi air. Would more air stop the slipping? Any thoughts? Thanks for any info.

One thing about a roll-over canopy I've noticed is tat it acts like a tuning fork and magnify noises you might not otherwise hear.

As far as a ping or knock while letting out the clutch...it's fairly common on the old 4010/20 series tractors. My 4010 does it to a degree. I've always figured it's some wind-up in the planetary/axel/stub-shaft splines and gear teeth. I would check the axel wedges and rim hardware and wedges for anything loose and then probably not worry about it.

The noise you are hearing has always
been there. The canopy is just
magnifying the sound. Deere filled
the uprights with sand to deaden the
resonance on the factory canopies. As
for the tires slipping, if bead soap
was used to mount the tires, you may
have to break down the tires and
clean the rims and beads and remount.
Is the tractor running duals or
single tires? Upping the air pressure
won't help.

The Canopy will bounce noise off of it that you never heard before. You can buy a canopy kit (foam insulation) that will help reduce the noise. I purchased one from Iron Bull not too long ago for my 6030.
