Last night i was out pulling posts to replace fence. i had the tractor running at about 1200 rpms so i could keep the hydraulics happy with out loading up to much. after about 10 mins i noticed a faint misfire. thought nothing of it and after 10 more mins it was a few more cylinders misife. i climbed back up on and cracked the throttle and it clear up all bout about on cylinder. i thought it might be a good time to get back to the shed. I started my drive through the paddock around to the gate and she started to fall on her face firing on about two cylinders. to keep from doing any more possible damage i shut her down. after about 10 seconds i cranked to see if i could hear if something mechanical may have failed, when i hit the starter it fired right up perfectly and purred no sign of the misfire. i did not want to press the issue and took it to the shed to retire for the night.
Any ideas where to start to look at? I do know that i need to get a tune up done, was just waiting to get my little jobs done before i pull the loader off to get in there. points looked good a few weeks ago when i checked. I have not pulled the plugs to check them, kind of a bearcat to get to with the loader on the machine. could it be condensor or coil? its not a fuel issue, i could smell the unburnt fuel in the exhaust when it was misfiring.
