Replaced seal behind flywheel a few yrs ago , not one problem a few months had a knock at idle ck
flywheel it was loose tight big nut up then tighten ( with proper space ) two bolt every thing worked great
clutch was getting hard to snap in after using it serval hours no adjustmenr left, replaced dog toggles all
disk complete rebuild , not enough bolt to get nuts on over springs with out great amount of pressure
now don't have room to replace cottor pins, ? Where do you get the correct .015 from point a to point b
on flywheel side or do I need to do the clucth first then set flywheel Someone please talk me though
this I did as shop manual said and videos ,I am not a drinking man but about ready to take my first drank

Crankshaft end play is a separate issue from the clutch and can be set without a clutch pulley on the crankshaft at all. Anywhere on a vertical flat surface of the flywheel to the rest of the machine will suffice. Best to use a magnetic base mounted dial indicator to measure the .015 amount of movement desirable as I know of no easy method of using a standard set of feeler gauges for this job. Although one might give it a try inside the crankcase cover at the left main bearing by pushing the flywheel to the right towards the clutch and attempting feeler gauge insertion between crank and left main bearing flange. I've never attempted it, if you do and it works then consider the measurement good enough.

"not enough bolt to get nuts on over springs"
???
You are not putting the adjustment nuts in direct contact with the springs are you?
The springs go under the right most plate #32, in between it and #28. The idea being to open up the outer clutch pack first once the clutch is released. Only the nuts go on outside the right most plate #32. #28 and #32 are both mounted on the bolts with the spring #34 holding them apart until the clutch is engaged. Be sure that the springs are not compressed if it's been assembled in the wrong manner and they now have taken a set that renders them of no use at all.

On my 630, there are two adjustment bolts in the right side main bearing housing. One is above the crankshaft and the other is below. They appear to be used to limit the movement of the clutch yoke. I wonder if those bolts could be set wrong and not allowing enough threads to be exposed. I'm not sure if that would affect clutch adjustment. I did not mess with the bolts on my tractor. Some of you guys will know something about these bolts - I don't. Here's a picture of the bolts I'm talking about. The picture is looking straight down at the crank.
