the only was engine oil can get to the rearend is through the reduction gear cover correct through the clutch pully seal and main bearing? its going through about a gallon a day. thanks Dusty

Yes that about it..

Unless someone else is draining from the crank
case & dumping it in the trans..

Main seal needs replaced & bearings need checked.

On a 60 there is a plug, kinda like a freeze plug, part number 3256, that will let a lot of oil in from the transmission if its not seated, found out the hard way

On a 620 or 630, IF the Clutch-side Crankcase Seal is leaking..Measure the clearance on that Main Bearing...
There is a very good chance the bearing (AND Rod) are Starved of Oil pressure..
The cause is a small circular "Seal" ("O-Ring" that can swell and Block the oil flow..
If you need to replace that seal (and Main Bearing..?), put a short, threaded Brass tube in place..(the threads are already there) that is long enough to keep that "O-Ring" from moving and blocking the oil passage..
This "O-Ring" is between the Main Bearing Quill and the engine Block..
If the Main Bearing is bad (excessive clearance..that Rod bearing probably is bad, too..

Ron..
