620 stiff PTO clutch

restoring a 620, making some progress, next item is the PTO pedal is hard to operate, probably a common problem with these tractors, anything I should know before I tear into it? I have the service manual.
 
If the linkage isn't rusted and binding, maybe the clutch is set too tight. Look in the manual for the proper adjustments.
 
DON'T use a hammer to remove the pedal pivot pin. The ear will break off of the First Reduction Cover pretty easy (I'm told). You probably already knew this, but just in case. . .

The pedal was stiff on my 630. I cleaned the pivot up and it made it operate like new again.
