i am looking at a jd 6200 cab power quid around 4500 hours whhats the bad about these tractors it looks to be in good condition, does the power quid realy take 10 hp off thanks

A few years ago the orchard I manage bought a 6200, 4x4, cab. I like the tractor a lot. We ended fitting a new JD H310 loader to it and it is a great little chore tractor. This one has left hand reverser which is great with the loader. We run a 10 foot pull behind mower with it, have put a highway arm mower on the back. The pull behind mower even on our hills does not work it that hard.

The one big issue we had is the reverser housing was supposed to have had an update at some point years ago. Ours did have that. However, the .99 cent bolt was either not torqued or over torqued and ended up breaking and backing out. It slipped down enough to wedge itself in the front driveshaft u-joint. Deere ended up covering a good portion of the repair and was able to extra the bolt without splitting the tractor. Not sure anyone could have seen that coming though and JD did step up and foot over half the bill.

I have heard the wiring harness for the cab gets chaffed and ruined how it is run through the cab post but we have not had that issue. I have also heard that the battery posts under the are a weak point and we have just not used them to jump the tractor or charge the battery. As far as the quad range ours shifts nice and has plenty of speeds for what we do. I am not hunting between ranges.
