63 ford 2000 won't go... help

Have A 63 Ford 2000 4Cyl Gas That Won't Move When Put Into Any Gear. Thinking Its the Clutch/Pressure Plate. Any Thoughts Would Be Great, I'm New To This Site As Well As Owning A Tractor (This Is My First).

First of all does your tractor have a Sherman transmission? There would be a handle on the Left side of the transmission by the steering if it does. It could have been accidently knocked out of gear there.
Secondly, does the pto work normally?
Any noises anywhere? Grinding, thunking?
Post back.

A Sherman is an auxilliary transmission which is installed in the bell housing. Owners manual may not mention it.
If you do have pto but no drive then it is likely the splined coupler which connects the tranny to the pinion drive gear.
Part #2 in the diagram at the link below.
You should be able to remove the round plate that the pto lever comes out of and look in there with a flashlight to see it.
If that is intact then it could be the pinion gear, ring gear or possibly a broken axle.
Jack up the whole rear end and with the engine off and tranny in any gear turn one wheel.
The other wheel should turn the opposite way.
That will test the axles.

Which transmission does it have? Since you mention a clutch I assume that it's got either the 4 or 5 speed transmission, but if this is your first tractor you may have the Select-O-Speed (10 speed) transmission and not know that what looks and acts like a clutch pedal isn't really a clutch pedal on that transmission.

If it has the 5 speed, does it have live PTO?

your not sure if you have a 4 or 5 speed?

does it shift in an H or up and down?

if the pto runs.. the clutch and thru the tranny is good.

that leaves a post tranny like an everette, or howard, the pinion coupler tube, ring gear rivits, and axle or hub.

next would be to get someone to look into the diffy fill with a flashlight, while you are in a forward gear and setting on tractor pressing clutch. use a forward gear so that when you let out clutch, if it magically starts working.. you don't run the guy behind the tractor over. look to see if the ring gear spins.

Tractor Has 4 Speed, With Pto, (Not Select O Speed). Every Now And Then With The Clutch Pedal EngageD AndTrying To Go Into 1St I Will Hear A Grinding Sound, And I Can't Get It Into First Gear. I Have Never Had A Problem With The Pto. Thinking It Might Be Pressure Plate, Not Sure.

Back up.

so. you actually can't get it into a gear? IE.. you try to shift into a gear but cannot.. or you can shift into a gear, but get no response. Your post makes it sound like you can't actually get the shifter into a gear.

Now. with clutch in.. you say you CAN turn pto on, and when you let clutch out, pto spins.. correct? or?

Ok, Just Want To Clarify Here, Occasionally When I Try To Put It Into Gear It Won't Go Into Gear (Just Makes Grinding Noise). When I'm Able To Get It Into Gear (Sometimes It Won't Grind, And It Just Goes Right Into All Gears) The Tractor Doesn't Want To Move. It Will eventually Start Rolling With Throttle Open All The Way.

PTo Works Fine, No Problems, Noises Anything When I Push Clutch In To Engage, Pto It Spins When Clutch Out
