630 John Deere top link

I bought a used 3 point off another 630 John Deere. The arms are cat. 2. I can not get the locking mechanism to close around a cat. 2 ball. Did Deere make the top link cat.1 or is my mechanism messed up?

I think your claw must be messed up. Only used one ball size between the 4020 and the 630 for the last 40 years.

You're using an aftermarket top link, not a John Deere top link. Original top links are smaller where they connect to the tractor. The top link for a two cylinder is a little different than shown below but the connection to the tractor is similar.
