6329d vs 6359d

I hope somebody can help me. I am rebuilding an engine in a 2840 JD with the engine 6329d. I found on the tear down that the block is done for. I am looking for another block, or complete running engine. Doing research it looks as if JD upgraded to the 6359d engine which was in the 2955 tractor. If you look at remanufacturered engines they do not offer a 6329d. They give you a 6359d engine in place of the 6329d. My question is what do I need to change if anything to do this and too what is the power difference. Also what all does the 6359d fit in to look in the junk yard. I was looking for used combines as they usually don"t have over 2500 hrs on the engines. Any input will be helpful. Thanks stewy

The 6329 is a shorter stroke engine. The crankshaft, pistons and fuel system calibration will be difference. A few other parts may be different based on the application, check your parts books. Externally both engines look the same.
The 6359 is more popular just because it produces more power. You just have to be careful when upgrading from 6239 to 6359 if your transmission/powertrain was marginal to begin with.
Hope this helps.
Bill.
