64 2000 power steering

I have a 1964 ford 2000 tractor with power steering. I am looking for new seals for the steering valve because the unit leaks out the top under the steeerig wheel.I have had no luck finding these seals and was looking for advise on where to look.

the column seals if I am not mistaken should be available from CNH.. and if nothing else.. ID, OD and thickness can get you a will fit set usually.

They used to sell them here on this site but now I don't see them listed in the parts dept any more.
Call your local New Holland dealer ask them for part # E1NN3N632AA. That seal is a common failure item on these tractors and they should have them in stock. About $12.
They used that same seal on all of the smaller Fords with wishbone style front axle from 1955 through 1983.
If the dealer is far away from you and you don't need it yesterday they are pretty good about shipping to you if you have a credit card. I buy a lot of seals etc from my hometown dealer who is about 125 miles away. Parts man there would charge me about $3 to send a seal like that through the mail. I couldn't drive very far for $3.

I've been telling you for the last 4 or 5 tractors that you need an SOS.
I know you don't do that much mechanical work on yours but if it ran good in all gears and the pto worked as it should you probably wouldn't have to do anything to the tranny. I would definately take a chance on one.
Everything else would be the same and you certainly know what to look at when buying a tractor.

I replaced the steering shaft seal on my 3600 20+ years ago because it was leaking fluid out of the top of the steering column. The seal is at the base of the steering column. It's a fairly simple job.

Take care NOT to use the steering wheel to pull yourself up on the tractor when getting aboard. Many people do this. The force you apply on the steering column will eventually damage this seal.
